Bakst/Ballets Russes Note Cards

Deco the Halls & Peace Cards

In 1909, artist Leon Bakst emigrated from his native Russia to Paris. He immediately joined the troupe at The Ballets Russes, along with impresario Serge Diaghilev. In that first season, Bakst's set and costume designs set a distinctive tone for the company and helped it become the toast of Paris. This collection of 20 (5" X 7") cards has 5 each of 4 illustrations from works like "Scheherazade," "Narcissus" and "L'apres-midi d'un Faune," created in his peak years of 1910 - 1912
