Perhaps the most famous and influential of all silent films, Fritz Lang’s METROPOLIS caused quite a stir when it was first shown in American theatres.  People were outraged by bleak portrayal of progress run amuck, but intrigued by the breathtaking Expressionist sets and powerful, yet chilling images of a conformist society. This is the most famous and Expressionistic version of the many Metropolis theatre posters.  Ours is 11-1/2” X 17-1/2” and comes matted in a simple black metal frame, ready to hang.
